The Blaufränkisch International Competition is a groundbreaking event for winemakers, merchants, and lovers of the Blaufränkisch variety.

The aim of the competition is to compare Frankovka wines from around the world, appreciate their diversity, and showcase the power of this phenomenal variety across terroirs and technologies.

Frankovka Conference
February 13, 2026

Join us for a professional conference dedicated to Blaufränkisch grape variety in a broad historical, terroir, and international context. The program focuses on the influence of geology, the origin and development of the variety, working with barrels, building Grand Cru vineyards, and the diverse forms of Frankovka across Europe. The speakers will be given by renowned winemakers, academics, and international experts.

Tasting of competition wines
February 13–14, 2026

Tasting of all competition samples from the first Blaufränkisch International Competition. You can look forward to Blaufränkisch wines from traditional regions (Hungary, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Czechia, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania) as well as from less typical or exotic countries such as Poland, Italy, Spain, Canada, and Australia.

What is the registration fee and when must it be paid?

The fee for registering one sample is CZK 1,240 / € 50.

The registration fee must be paid by February 2, 2026, at the latest. Late payment or non-payment may result in the sample being disqualified from the competition.
